The benefits of Yoga for IBS sufferers

Yoga is believed to help calm the digestive system and offer relief from symptoms of IBS such as abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhoea, bloating and flatulence. Gentle stretching exercises and careful breathing can also help release tension and reduce the effect of stress on the body – one of the common triggers of IBS.

This section of the website includes five different yoga exercises demonstrated by a qualified yoga instructor for you to try out if you wish. However, you may like to attend yoga classes for professional, ongoing support.

Helen BirdYoga instructor: Helen Bird
